Granado Espada- Fighter by keiko-z Granado Espada- Fighter by keiko-z
I m not much of a gamer, so Granado Espada is actually the first [PC] game I played. Playing with 3 characters at once got me a bit confused at first, until I got 'the hang of it'. I usually play with a team of 3, Fighter being my favorite so she gets to lead :)
Ohh, the graphics and the costumes! Wonderful settings and many cool costume designs around the internet:) This is the artist that made the reference picture [link] <3

W.I.P. and Reference here: [link]

For this costume I learnt lots of new things: how to make a boned corset [from youtube tutorials], somehow puffed sleeve, circle skirt, working with velvet, veil and first use of Wonderflex [quite rough on the skin].

I managed to finish it in 2 weeks, in time for Otaku festival- the EuroCosplay qualifications. But now I've noticed some things I d like to modify for a proper photoshoot; the corset -which is quite loose, and it doesn t flatter my figure, the skirt's length, neck armor size.

Oh well, overall I m quite satisfied with it~
Costume, Wig, Clock prop, Sword measurements are made by me.

I m really proud of my brother who worked so much at making the sword out of plywood with really crappy tools, in a small workshop [our basement]!
Alsooo I thank a lot :iconanzai-d: for his skills at making the skit's sound mix, :iconry0ko: for her convention support and :iconayashige: for the pictures!:) Hugs!

Um, if it helps I'm VERY familiar with corsets- especially boning. If you used steel boning that's the best and will hold up for years and years on end- virtually indestructible. A key to making the waist line more flattering is adding more loop holes to make the X's in the corset which pull it together more tightly. If you made the corset 2-3 inches smaller than your average natural waistline that is the best so then it can pull you in a smidgen (though you already have a lovely figure- I don't mean that in a creepy way). But seriously- the outfit looks amazing, you did a magnificent job and I'm just left breathless with the beauty and craftsmanship of it all.

I didn t use steel boning, I couldn t find it in stores here, I know it s the best, but I bought plastic ones. It s not so good, not tight at all because in the sides line is open from the half down, and the only point where it s closed in front is not strong to make it tight.
I was actually thinking to wear something tight underneath it, to make a better shape, maybe another corset:) What do you say?

Thanx for your thoughts!

Hm... I think plastic works just fine for certain things- like if you have a thin corset and you only want it to show off your curves or take you in a couple of inches then it's quite divine- though you'll need to keep it in place quite a bit because it might poke out every now and then and stab your underarms. And the best place to get steel boning is in England, there are certain tricks that can make the X's easier but it's INCREDIBLY hard to do and you have to be very strong, especially with velvet since it's such a hard fabric to work with. Personally I think you did a great job with the corset, especially for only having two weeks to put the entire outfit together. If you want to get a professionally made corset that'll last years and years to come there's a lady who I know who makes the best corsets in the world, it can cost a pretty penny but she makes them high-quality with the best materials and it's incredibly flattering to any figure. It's merely a recommendation but you seem like an amazing seamstress nonetheless. ^^
